RESPITE CARE PROGRAM
The Dementia Spotlight Foundation recognizes the importance of taking care of you, the primary dementia caregiver. In effort to support local caregivers, our fundraising event, the Tampa Bay Alzheimer’s Music Fest, has raised money to offer a gratis “Care Packet” allowing loved ones living with dementia to receive respite care at physical levels needed.
Who qualifies for this gift?
Any full-time dementia caregiver who does not have the means to attain this service is welcome to apply for this packet.
The “Care Packet” will be issued in an amount of up to $500.00. This can be used for in-home care or adult day care or for a “short term respite” at an assisted living community. Agencies or facilities will be paid directly. Private caregivers or individuals are not eligible for direct payment.
Funding will be issued to provide respite services from an agency or facility that is independently chosen by the caregiver. We can provide recommendations of companies in your area, if needed.
Applications for our “Care Packet” services may only be made once in a twelve-month period. This is on a first come, first serve basis. We will help as many families as possible hile the funding is lasts.
Payment arrangements must be pre-approved by the Dementia Spotlight Foundation.
Individuals using the respite services must have a doctor issued diagnosis of Alzheimer’s/Dementia in order to qualify.
The “Care Packet” program is meant solely to provide financial assistance for respite care. Dementia Spotlight Foundation neither provides management or direction of respite care received by individuals applying.
We do not exercise control or supervision of any facility where care is offered or provided, nor do we sponsor them.
Until the selection of a caregiver company, adult day care or an assisted living facility for the respite care is selected, the “Care Packet” will not be approved.
Our goal is to provide much needed respite care to caregivers, by contributing a break they truly deserve. Helping families in need that otherwise could not afford respite is at the heart and soul of our mission.
