Connection Cafés

What Is A DSF

Connection Café?

Welcome to Connection Cafes, a community for people living with dementia and their care partners. Connection Cafes or memory cafes offer a safe and supportive environment to connect, learn, and socialize. We hope you join us!

As the name suggests, the cafes are a safe space for those living with dementia to form new connections and strengthen existing ones.

Regular socialization helps stimulate the mind of those living with dementia. The cafes also connect attendees with others who share similar experiences.

Care partners also benefit from the cafes. Here they can connect with and learn from others in the community. Our Connection Cafes are facilitated by Alyss Amster and Lynn Ross who have experience working with people living with dementia.

Why are Connection Cafes Important?

What’s the Difference?

Connection Cafes vs. Dementia Support Groups

Connection Cafes also known as Memory Cafes differ from support groups in a few key ways. Connection Cafes are focused on social connection and community building, whereas dementia support groups tend to be more focused on problem-solving and sharing information. Support groups usually cater to the care partner solely, whereas Connection Cafes are for both those living with dementia and their care partner to form new connections and strengthen existing ones.

Connection Cafes are also designed to be more relaxed and informal, creating a welcoming and non-judgmental space for people to connect.

Proudly Partnered with Senior Services North Fulton

Dementia Spotlight Foundation is proud to partner with Senior Services North Fulton (SSNF) for our Connection Cafes.  SSNF is a nonprofit that has been supporting the elderly in North Fulton for over 30 years. SSNF offers programs and services like Meals on Wheels, transportation to medical appointments, and operates 7 senior centers. Roswell Senior Center hosts our bi-monthly Connection Café.
