About Speaker

Alyss Amster got her experience when, in 2017, she joined Amy’s Place, the first free-standing Memory Cafe in Roswell. Later, the name of Memory Cafe was changed to Connection Cafe by Alyss to reduce the stigma associated with cognitive decline. In 2021, Alyss joined the Dementia Spotlight Foundation leadership team by assuming the role of Associate Executive Director.

She supports the Foundation by increasing awareness and serving as the director of the DSF Connection Cafe in Roswell. Connection Cafes (Memory Cafes) provide a safe and comfortable space where care partners and those living with dementia can socialize through appropriate activities. Alyss also serves as co-chair of the Speakers Bureau of Adult Children of Aging Parents (ACAP) of Cobb-Cherokee.
